Justin Stahl / Cruise Origin

The Cruise Origin was the first manufactured driverless vehicle, designed in partnership with GM and Honda. Without a steering wheel, pedals, or a dashboard, the interior space was expanded to include up to six riders comfortably.

I led the Consumer design team, who designed the hardware interactions, sensor pods and display architecture, the end-to-end customer journey and in-car experience, and the mobile application.

Before GM closed Cruise in 2025 and ended the Origin program, hundreds of vehicles had been produced and tested on San Francisco roads.
